The Stonehenge is considered as a prehistoric center for rock music and sound according to a new study. The stones on the popular Stonehenge create noises that sound like metallic sounds such as bells and gongs and wooden sounds just like from the drums when they are hit.
The Stonehenge is composed of monoliths that were believed to be moved by the Stone Age man coming from Wales. Now, some researchers try to prove that such stones were moved with the intentions that they create a specific sound or music. The study is proposed by experts coming from the prestigious and acclaimed Royal College of Art from London. They stated that a few stones has similar sounds as compared to the sounds made from bells, gongs, and drums when they are being hit by hammers or when they are played.
The experts first tried to tap the bluestones found on the Stonehenge in order for them to test for sonic sounds. These so called sonic rocks were specifically chosen because of the acoustic energy that they emit. This acoustic energy creates various noises that range from metallic sounds to wooden sounds.
A recent research was published in the Journal of Time and Mind points out that the Preseli Bluestones has an essential role. Preseli Bluestones make up the popular monument which came from the Pembrokeshire landscape on South-West Wales.
Jon Wozencroft, founding director of the musical publishing company, Touch, quipped that that the new discovery was indeed magical and it was a refreshing phenomenon that is still left unexplained.
