Nelson Mandela’s death impressed everyone. He, the first black President of South Africa, is widely known for his struggle against racial opression. Thanks to him, now people of all nations and races are equal in rights in Africa. Mr Nelson spent 27 years in prison, after being convicted of treason by the white minority government, only to forge a peaceful end to white rule by negotiating with his captors after his release in 1990.
All presidents of the world, including Bill Klinton, greeted and congratulated him on being free and being a new President of South Africa, even though Mr Nelson served only 5 years as the President.
Having retired, Mr Mandela dedicated his life to charity and helping out those who have AIDS, by speaking it out. Africans speak about him as of about saint, “we lost our greatest son”, they say he treated everyone with respect. Nelson Mandela was a noble, dignified person. All people in South Africa find the day of his death the day of their deepest sorrow and biggest loss. They all will remember him!
Millions of grateful people all over the world gathered together to honour Mandela, they sang song and brought bunches of flowers. He will always stay in theri hearts
